The Rock x Minecraft Steve

One morning, the internet was ablaze with speculation about The Rock starring in a video game based movie after he wouldn’t say which game an upcoming movie of his would be based around.

Naturally, we looked to join in the speculation with our own guess on what it could be. We ended up choosing one of the Twitch communities most beloved games in Minecraft and designed a quick turn asset to showcase this.

It’s a good thing we aren’t actually movie directors because the block shaped head of The Rock was unnerving to some in our portrayal of The Rock as ‘Steve’ but we think that adds charm.

Casmiro Breaks Records

After topping the record for most simultaneous viewers in January 2022, we needed to move fast to capitalize on this moment while the conversation was at it’s peak. In addition we had the added difficulty of Twitch not wanting to directly call out the streaming record due to some internal policies.

After a quick discussion, the proposal was to lead with this image and simply say “We see you, Casmiro” to show that we recognized his accomplishment without directly referencing the numbers. This post remains one of the most liked tweets on @Twitch to this day.

Your New Squadmate, Clippy

When the news broke that Microsoft was purchasing Activision, the publisher of Call of Duty amongst other titles, we looked to see how Twitch could insert it’s voice into the rapidly growing discussion on the purchase.

While Microsoft doesn’t have a mascot per se, it does have Clippy from the late 90’s to early 00’s. The ‘controversial’ assistant has grown to be a part of meme culture throughout the years so we thought how better to mix Microsoft and Activision than to bring Clippy into Activision’s biggest product, Call of Duty.

Donned in his Warzone ready attire, the community loved his fake addition into the game.

Kai Cenat Breaks The Sub Record

One evening in Febuary 2023, Kai Cenat raced past 300,000 subscribers on Twitch to break at the all time subscription record.

After monitoring the situation throughout the day, we were able to start posting immediately with a congratulatory Tweet he read out on stream as well as a video clip of the moment.

In addition, we wanted an additional way to quick way to capitalize on TikTok in a more endemic way then just posting the clip. My proposal was to utilize an old “reaction meme” we had filmed with him months before at TwitchCon and stich the asset so Kai is reacting to Kai.

This went over great with the community and we were able to rack up over 1401k likes on TikTok with our quick turn asset.
